Vintage Sutcliffe Merlin Electric Tinplate Speed Boat Boxed Battery Operated

Vintage British-made Sutcliffe Merlin electric speedboat, manufactured by Sutcliffe Pressings Ltd of Horsforth, Leeds.

The model features a red pressed-metal hull, cream deck, clear windscreen, blue removable battery cover and original Merlin lettering. It comes with its attractive original illustrated cardboard box.

The removable cover provides access to the battery-operated electric motor. Please note that the switch assembly is currently loose from its mounting, as shown in the photographs.

The boat remains untested.

Condition

The boat is in used vintage condition with age-related marks, dirt, spotting, light paint wear and some corrosion inside the battery compartment. The windscreen is intact, although it has marks and surface wear.

The stern flag is not present. The original box has staining, creasing, crushing, edge wear and general storage wear but remains a particularly attractive and important part of the item.
