Original Vintage Corgi Toys No. 266 – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – Working Flip-Out Wings

A superb original vintage Corgi Toys model of the famous Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, produced in connection with the classic Dick Van Dyke film.

This is the desirable original Corgi Toys No. 266 issue and comes with its original illustrated window box and display packaging.

The model is beautifully detailed and retains all four character figures, together with the distinctive red and yellow wings, chrome-effect engine detailing, windscreen, lamps and decorative fittings.

Importantly, the automatic flip-out wing mechanism has been tested and is working correctly. Operating the lever deploys the wings as intended.

Also included are the original white moulded display plinth and illustrated blue cloud/castle backdrop, both of which are often missing from surviving examples.

The car itself appears to be in excellent condition for its age, retaining bright paintwork, attractive chrome detailing and a particularly good overall appearance.

The original box is complete and remains very displayable but does show its age, including creasing, edge and corner wear, marks/staining and general storage wear. The clear window also shows age-related wear. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
